Judy Blume “Tiger Eyes” Movie!
Listen up, Young Adult Literature Fans! Hollywood bigwigs are currently casting for a film adaptation of Tiger Eyes, Judy Blume’s classic 1981 novel about a teenage girl struggling to cope with the death of her father and life in unfamiliar New Mexico.
Tiger Eyes follows in the footsteps of at least one other Blume classic that was given the film treatment. The kids’ fave Superfudge was turned into an ABC TV movie in 1995.
Gossip Girl villainess Willa Holland will be playing plucky protagonist Davey, while relative newcomer Tatanka Means takes over as Wolf, a mysterious canyon dweller with a crush on Davey.
We’re thrilled! The only thing that could make this more exciting is if Lifetime would get the ball moving on a made-for-TV version of Judy’s poignant adult novel Summer Sisters. Which of your favorite childhood books would you like to see reformatted to film?
